Art(s) therapy can be adapted as a healthier coping mechanism in lieu of destructive and harmful behaviours, such as bingeing or purging. Art(s) therapy can also be effective in aiding women or men in working through various body image challenges.
ATIC’s Eating Disorder programme consists of assessment, individual sessions, group therapy, family sessions. ATIC is also a respected provider of training in how to use creative interventions to help clients with eating disorders. ATIC feels it is really important to work with families on approaches that help the whole family and frequently work as part of a multi-agency team during the therapeutic treatment.
