ATIC is committed to helping you improve the quality of your relationships. Family therapy provides a safe, supportive and confidential place for all family members to discuss, work through and gain insight into recurring challenges within the family.
During the first consultation, our trained therapists will take the time to gather information about your family, your pressing concerns and your collective goals. The therapist may also meet with some members individually in order to hear that person’s perspective in private. If not all members of the family are willing to attend, we encourage the members of the family who are seeking help to begin therapy nonetheless.
Family therapy may be right for you and your family when dealing with the following challenges
- Abuse (including violence, physical, verbal, and emotional)
- Blended Families
- Differences in parenting styles
- Grief and loss
- Impending divorce or separation
- Inter-racial challenges
- Parent-child conflict
- Sibling rivalry
- Special needs/learning difficulties/behavioural challenges
If you are unsure if family therapy is right for you, we encourage you to organise a consultation to experience the process.
The Art Of Bonding: Mother and Baby
This group is for mothers looking to enrich their interactions with their children, strengthening attachments, through the use of creative art and play therapy. Art is a natural way for children to express themselves and it can be a window on their world where they can communicate and express. This can be an effective way for mothers to strengthen their emotional ties with their children.
