Shereen Diab Kahil
Shereen Diab Kahil has over 15 years extensive experience in the fields of Psychology, Expressive Arts Therapies, and Human Resources. She obtained her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from the American University of Beirut and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Expressive Arts Therapies from the Institute for Group Therapy and Group Dynamics in Vienna, Austria. Shereen is both a Professional Member of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) as well as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Shereen provides expressive arts therapies to individuals, groups, and communities. Her work reveals a deep in-terest in the power of the expressive arts in promoting the spiritual, emotional, and social strength of individuals and communities. She uses modalities in her work that include arts, writing, drama, movement, photography, and video, exploring the transfer between modalities and its potential to promote healing. Shereen has worked with various populations of different ages across several settings such as Health and Social Care, Refugee Camps, Schools, as well as Corporate settings among others.
Shereen is Certified in the HOGAN Personality Assessment Systems, holding Professional Certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI-PHR).
She was awarded the International Young Visual Arts Entrepreneur of the Year Award (IYVAE) by the British Council in 2008 for her work with Lens On Lebanon, where they worked with marginalized communities in Leba-non, promoting their cultural enfranchisement through the expressive arts, while establishing collaborations with local NGOs, and organizing workshops and screenings.
While teaching Psychology and Expressive Arts Therapies at the University of Balamand in Lebanon, she was awarded a Bursary for promoting the Creative Arts in Health by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) to attend their Conference in Italy, and was invited by the Arab Resource Collective (ARC) in Beirut to lecture on Expressive Arts with Youth.
Shereen lives between Dubai and Beirut and speaks fluent English and Arabic, as well as conversational French and German.
